Share-A-Meal

Our Ronald McDonald Houses serve as a "home-away-from-home" for families with children receiving medical treatment in the Orlando area. Our Houses have 59 rooms and have accommodated over 10,000 families since the doors of our first House opened in December 1996.

Families need and look forward to a well-balanced meal after a long day at the hospital. Now, more than ever, WE NEED YOUR HELP. Our goal is to provide a meal every day of the week for our guests. You can help us by either cooking a meal at the house in our spacious kitchen, or by preparing a meal in your home and delivering it in disposable pans. Groups or individuals cooking in our kitchen should bring all ingredients for their meal with them. They are invited to stay and serve the meal if they desire to do so, but it is not necessary. QUANTITIES DESIRED:

Please plan to cook for approximately 50-60 people. However, you should plan on calling the House directly prior to your Share-A-Meal date in order to get a more accurate estimate.

CONFIRMATION CALL:

You should receive a call approximately one week prior to your scheduled meal. If possible, please be prepared to provide us with your meal selection at this time,

HELPFUL GUIDELINES:

* Customary serving time for dinner is 6:30 p.m.

* Recommended group size:

Florida Children's Hospital location (Alden Rd): no more than 7 participants
Arnold Palmer Medical Center location (Kuhl Ave): no more than 12 participants

* Eating utensils, plates, napkins, and cups are provided, but a donation of paper products is always appreciated.

* Providing drinks is optional, no alcohol please.

* Groups are welcome to use our kitchen but must clean up afterwards.

* For dropping off food, use the alley beside our House off Bedford Road or the

area behind the Kuhl Avenue House.

* House tours will be given upon request.

HOW TO SCHEDULE A MEAL:

Call the Ronald McDonald House location where you wish to prepare a meal.

Please be prepared with the following information:

Name of group or individual providing the meal
Date and time meal will be provided

Dates are typically booked a month in advance

PARKING:

Florida Children's Hospital Location (2201 Alden Road), 407-898-6127

Parking available in the parking garage on Alden Road. Parking is free. Please do not park in spots labeled Valet Only.

Arnold Palmer Medical Center Location (1630 Kuhl Ave), 407-581-1289

Before 5 p.m. - One car may park in lot behind the House. Other cars must park in the garage located on Miller St.
After 5 p.m. - You may utilize the parking lot of the green medical building across the street from the House entrance.
