Volunteers: More than 200 volunteers provide the backbone of the Houses. In-house volunteers work in three, four-hour shifts daily. These in-house volunteers check families in and out, answer telephones, give tours, perform light housekeeping, assist with clerical work, and provide emotional support for the families. Additionally, other volunteers assist with special events and other fundraising activities.

Families Served: More than 10,000 have stayed at the Ronald McDonald Houses in Orlando since opening the first phase of the first House in December 1996. Those families have represented 39 countries, 46 states and 59 Florida counties. Most families are from the following Florida counties: Brevard, Volusia, Highlands, Lake, and Orange.

Additional Services: A house manager is on campus at both Houses 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Meals are provided by individuals and organizations in the community when possible. Families may prepare their own meals if they wish. An RMH van, donated by The Dr. P. Phillips Foundation, transports families to and from the hospitals when needed.
